What types of authors will benefit from Book Publicity School?

What is the curriculum based on?
Everything we teach comes directly from our experience leading high-profile book publicity campaigns at Press Shop PR. Leah Paulos and her team of four publicists have promoted over 350 books, including numerous New York Times bestsellers. You’ll get insights from the fast-paced, competitive world where authors, publishers, and media intersect—strategies that have proven results in the real world.
How much of my time will this require?
You control the time you invest. In the 6-Week Book Publicity Intensive, each weekly session is just 1 hour, plus roughly 30 minutes in the online group. The fast-paced, interactive format makes it fun and actionable. For the 6-Month Book Publicity Program, we’ll help you map out a personalized publicity strategy that fits your schedule.
How long before publication should I enroll?
The ideal window is 3–12 months before publication, when you can immediately apply what you learn. But it’s never too early—or too late! If your book is more than a year away, you’ll have more time to master the process. If you’re close to publication—or even post-publication—we’ll adjust strategies so you can still maximize impact.
Will I be able to ask Leah questions directly?
Yes! Leah makes time to answer questions during weekly classes, Q&A sessions, and 1:1 strategy sessions. Our programs are designed to ensure you get personalized support whenever you need it.
What types of sample publicity materials will you share?
We provide examples of successful pitches, press materials, templates for media lists, and online resources—everything you need to create a professional, media-ready presence.
Do you give media contact information to workshop participants?
We guide you on which types of editors and producers to target, and teach you how to build your own contact lists. We do not provide direct email addresses for journalists, but we give you all the tools to connect effectively.
What if I can’t make it to one or more of the live sessions of the 6-Week Intensive?
No problem! All sessions are recorded, and slides are shared in a private online group. Many authors successfully participate asynchronously—perfect for different time zones or busy schedules.

We accept credit cards. Email us if you prefer ACH or check. All sales are final — refunds are not available.
